I'll always remember the model shows we went to. It would always be the same Tex and his posse would
always, always arrive late. Couldn't miss Tex when he arrived in that same old denim Jacket and long hair
(jealous of his hair? Hell yes) I'd always call out "
Hey you old Hippie the nursing home couldn't wake you up this
morning?
" He'd always reply after saying Hi was to blame Tony for picking him up late and Tony would blame
somebody else. Then he ask where the classes were and hurry off to display his stuff after awhile. Tex, Tony,
Ron, Myself and a few others would take up
all the chairs at the registration desk to have our hen chats. Tony I'd
say
"Did you see Tex's model of___" (whatever creation) and I'd say "No" and go over an look. Come back an
pass some smart ass remark and we'd all share a huge laugh. We would talk endlessly about modeling and I'd
pick on somebody and tell them how their model was the worse piece of cra_ I ever saw and we would all laugh
(they knew my humor) I picked on everyone I didn't discriminate. To wrap it up, We'd then, have a round table
discussion about how to shock people at the next model show (not to be vindictive or we would do it, but for a
Good honest laugh).
At the end of the show we'd plan our next show meeting, I'd always tell Tex to get a haircut and he'd always tell
me "Don't you wish you could too". We'd give each other a hug wish the other well and be on our way home,
looking forward to the next show.
We were a Band of Brothers.
Yea gonna miss those times sure we'll get together at future shows and share some laugh or two but
somehow it will never be the same . Life is like that. ________________

UPDATED_____ so after I write all this Tony E-Mails me with some after thoughts only because he believes I'm going senile. How can I forget - Forget What?  Err OK, like
all the times Tex would win and we'd bust his balloons I'm sure I said some guy new to the hobby looking for his first trophy committed suicide because his car in that class
didn't win or ask who he paid off to win that class. Then there was all the lunches where we spent darn near an hour or so rounding up people who seemed to go in an out of
some black hole  then yet another 15 min deciding where to go and when all was set an done most the guys didn't have enough to pay for what  filled their puggey bellies.
Like i said gonna miss those times well maybe not all of them.
